March Hair Trends

Haircuts:

The Pixie- This classic cut just made a major comeback! It consists of shorter sides and longer layers on the top. Whether you are styling it polished or messy, it is a great low maintenance look!

Extreme Layers- This cut is great for those looking to add volume or natural movement to your hair without sacrificing a lot of length. It is known as the chameleon of haircuts because It works on long, medium, short, straight and curly/wavy hair!

Hair Colors:

French Vanilla- Pamella Anderson has set many trends in her lifetime and her most recent one is no exception. This simple regal color is making its rounds this spring/summer season. If you are looking to brighten up your look but don’t want to go as far as platinum this color could be prefect for you!

Blended/ Full Grey Transition- This is the year of embracing your greys!! We have seen a major increase in those throwing their color to the wind and starting the transition to their natural grey for a more cost effective and low maintenance look. So, if you are tired of root colors and the constant upkeep, blending your grey into your current color or fully transitioning to grey is the way to go!

Hair Style:

Half-up Half-down- Although this style has been popular for many years, this year people are starting to juice it up by adding voluminous poofs and/or accessories. Whether you are going out or just running errands, this is a super cute and very easy hair style.

Hair Do’s and Don’ts:

  • DO- Get regular trims

Some might think that not trimming    your hair will allow your hair to grow more, but it does the opposite. When you don’t get regular trims, your hair has more breakages causing it to grow extremely slow. Getting a regular trim (average bring every 6 weeks) will get rid of the breakage, allowing your hair to be healthier and grow faster!

  • DON’T- Tie your hair back tight

Tying your hair in a snatched ponytail or bun can break your hair around the hairline. The hairline is the weakest part of the hair, so when pulling it up make sure it’s not super tight and use a silk scrunchie or a softer hair tie.

  • DO- Use the correct products

Choosing products that suit your hair type is very important. If you choose a low quality one or a product that overall doesn’t work with your hair, it will create excess frizz and lack of volume, along with many other complications. If you are looking for recommendations or guidance, it is best to consult your hair care professional.

  • DON’T- Over-wash or Under-wash your hair

Over-washing your hair will strip it of all the oils, which creates dryness and that can lead to split ends. Under-washing your hair will cause a buildup of oils, leading to dullness and even possible hair loss.

  • DO- Use heat protectant

Whenever you put any heat on your hair, whether it is a flat/curling iron or even a blow-dryer, ALWAYS use heat protectant. Putting heat on your hair without any protection effectively damages the cuticle. This can result in split ends and the hair either not growing or growing very slowly.

Half off Deep Conditioning Treatment

In this cold winter month, you might notice your hair feeling dry and dehydrated. Cold air strips away moisture in your hair causing the hair cuticle to lift. This can lead to hair breakage and split ends. Avoid any damage by nourishing your hair with a deep conditioning treatment!

Through the month of January, we are offering 50% off Deep Conditioning Treatment with any cut or color service

January Hair trends:

Natural Textures:

Embrace your natural hair with heatless styling.

~ Use curl creams to enhance your natural curl pattern

~ Frizz control serums are great to tame natural hair and add a shine quickly.

Colors:

This month we are seeing a trend in rich dark colors with a twist, think ashy-chocolate or chocolate with butterscotch tones for depth. We also are seeing the continuation of a deep auburn and caramel coloring that was very popular in the fall.

Cuts:

~ Layers will never go out of style! Long layers with face framing are all the rage and we understand why! It can soften features while also adding a little edge!

~ Clavicle cut- This cut was very popular in the early 2000s and nicknamed “The Rachel Green Cut”, after the famous character on the TV show ‘Friends’ played by Jennifer Aniston. For those not familiar, this cut is perfect for those that would like to go short but aren’t crazy about a bob and still want a little length. It can work on all hair textures, and you can even add bangs into the mix.

Fluffy/Wispy Bangs:

This is probably the trendiest hair style of the past year, and it is definitely here to stay as we go into the new year! This style is great for the colder months since you won’t be dealing with sweat or humidity. Plus, it can be very customizable according to your face shape.
